Virginia Haas

Haas, Virginia Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 16, 2020. She was 100 years old. Virginia Rice was born on October 22, 1919 in Saginaw to the late Eliot Wheeler and Leila (Lyon) Rice. She married Emil Haas on October 16, 1948, and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1984. Virginia worked as a secretary for Dow Chemical for a short time before leaving to spend time with her husband. She was a member of the Saginaw Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for many years. Virginia is survived by her nieces: Laura Rice of Portage, Michigan and Joann (Larry Greene) Rice of Washington; her dear friends and caregivers: Bonnie Ritchie, Terry and Joan Vasold and the staff of A and D Home Health and Hospice. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil and her brothers, Donald (Virginia) Rice and Richard Rice. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Virginia will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Michael Nitz will officiate. Burial will follow at the Midland Municipal Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
