Cesario Huerta

Huerta, Cesario Sr. Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away peacefully early Friday morning, January 10, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary's. He was 95 years old. Cesario was born February 25, 1924 in Boerne, Texas. He married the love of his life, Maria Dora DeLeon on May 13, 1946 in Edinburg, Texas. He was employed by General Motors at the Grey Iron Plant as a Core Setter, retiring after 37 years of service. Cesario was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and UAW Local 668 for many years. He loved gardening. Cesario also enjoyed going for walks through his neighborhood. But, what he really loved most was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Maria Dora; children, Dora (Robert) Ruiz, Rosalinda Martinez, Maria Alvear of Grand Prairie, Texas, Daniel (Gilda) Huerta, Eddieberto (Carol) Huerta of Killeen, Texas, and Diane Regalado; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cesario was preceded in death by his sons, Gilbert (2017) and Cesar Jr. (2016), his brothers, Jose, Jesus, Manuel, Bernardino, and Gregorio; his loving grandmother, Bibiana Lucio; special uncle, Gil Huerta who raised him from the age of four after his mother, Maria Reyes Huerta passed away. Cesario's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Ascension St. Mary's Emergency Department, SICU, the fourth floor nursing staff and Kimberly Bli and Stacy Smith of Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided to Cesario and his family. The family would also like to recognize and thank his loving daughter, Diane and his special granddaughter, Sabrena Regalado for the extraordinary and loving care they provided to Cesario in his time of need. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the St. Francis of Assisi - St. Anthony of Padua Site, 3680 S. Washington Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Rev. Fr. Gerry Pehler, OFM Cap. will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the church on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
