Geraldine Duso

DUSO, Geraldine "Geri" of Saginaw Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Saginaw Senior Care, surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old. Geraldine Margaret Moriarty was born on March 4, 1933 in Saginaw to the late Michael and Mary (Wasmiller) Moriarty. Geri graduated from St. Andrew High School in 1951. She met John Thomas Duso on a blind date, they fell in love and were married on February 19, 1955, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on July 7, 2010. Geri was a member of St. Dominic Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. In her free time, she loved to draw and be crafty, cook and bake for her family, take a shopping trip or have a fun day at the casino. Throughout Geri's life she cared for many people and worked part time at Deisler Funeral Home for over 15 years. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters and a son: Sandra (Sonny) Kovaleski, John Duso and Catherine Duso; four grandchildren: Andrew Duso, Nicole (Kenny) Mero, Adam Duso, and Samatha Duso; three great-grandchildren: Emilee and Hayden Duso and Gabriella Batcke; three sisters: Carol King, Maureen Cronkright and Sharon Melonson. She was preceded by her husband, John; an infant son, Michael Duso; grandson, Dean "DJ" Kovaleski; brother-in-law: Wally King; and sister-in-law: Carol (Jack) Connelly. Geri's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Saginaw Senior Care for the kindness and compassion they provided to Geri and her family. FUNERAL: Geri's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at St. Dominic Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. She will be laid to rest with her husband, John at Great Lakes National Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends will visit at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
