Obituary
Muter, Margaret Marie of Saginaw, Michigan. Passed away with her family by her side on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Brian's House in Essexville. She was 93 years old. Margaret Schumacher was born December 26, 1925 in Beal City, Michigan to the late Alfred and Lucille (Grewett) Schumacher. She married William Muter at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saginaw, Michigan on May 3, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1982. Margaret was a member of the Holy Spirit Alter Society. She and her husband were founding members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and were active in the church for many years. She loved to bake and made delicious cookies. Margaret also enjoyed canning. But, what she really loved most was spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Sue (Roger) Pawlanta, Gary (Debbie) Muter, Cindy (Tom) Arnold, Mike (April) Muter, Tim (Debbie) Muter, Rick (Alex) Muter, Lori (Dennis) Darby, and Kevin (Sam) Muter; son in-law, Bryan Mrozinski; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Wayne Muter; granddaughter, Lisa Pawlanta; and her sister, Esther Alberts. The family would like to express their gratitude to Julie, Sandy, and Care Team Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided for their mother. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the church on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or Brian's House. Margaret had a heart of gold & a sense of humor!! We had many private jokes & good laughs, usually at my expense! After the first couple weeks of caring for her, she asked me to "spoon" (feed) her! I told her I'm not that kind of girl! Her face lit up and she laughed so hard!! She had ticklish feet and liked the way I made her grilled ham/cheese sandwiches! One time, 3 different family members sent over potato salad, the same week! Everyday she would eat a helping of each one! I'd ask her whos she liked the best? She would say, the one I ate today! When I tucked her in bed, I would kiss her cheek or forehead. Then she started getting up couple more times , then ask me to tuck her in again!! It didn't take long to figure out that little game! Lol I can still hear her call my name, loud as could be! She'd laugh saying I was Johnny on the spot every tme! Occasionally, I'd peek around the corner & say "here's Johnny"! I was blessed to be a part of Margarets life! I love you & I'm sure your family & friends are rejoicing your reunion!
