Johnson, Doris E. (Still) Saginaw, Michigan The soul of an angel has gone to heaven to be greeted by her Lord on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from New Hope Valley Assisted Living. She was 88 years old. Doris Elaine Still was born on January 14, 1931 in Manton, Michigan to the late Charles and Leona (Moore) Still. Doris went to Business College at North Eastern School of Commerce. She met the love of her life, Gordon Francis Johnson in Bay City and they were married on April 6, 1952, he preceded her in death on October 1, 2015. She worked for General Motors at the Saginaw Malleable Iron Plant in the Personnel Office and St. Luke Hospital. She then worked at Teamsters, Local #486, helping many people with their pensions and financial support. Doris was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church, serving in many different ministry areas. Doris' kind hearted, gentle and beautiful nature will be deeply missed by her children: Pam (Doug) Bird, Kathy (Pat) Maday and Greg Johnson; daughter-in-law, Jan Johnson; grandchildren: Justin (Erin) Bird, MacKenzie Bird, Megan (Brett) Swaenepoel, Katie (Mark) Gibson, Ashley (Jason) Persails, Sarah (James) Lamb, Rachel Maday, Daniel Richmond, Brad and Mark Johnson; great grandchildren: Wyatt, Hudson, Rylie and Dylan Persails, Lucas and Evelyn Lamb, Brock, Kadence, Clayton and Colton Swaenepoel, Brantley Gibson and Evelyn Bird; sister, Barbara Gilde; brother, Donald (MaryLee) Still; sisters-in-law, Margaret Younk and Vicky Johnson; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; and son, Chuck Johnson. Doris' family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of New Hope Valley and Heartland Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Doris. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Erik Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Doris will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Peace Lutheran Church or Lewy Body Dementia Association.
