Benjamin Sny

Sny, Benjamin "Ben" Donald Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old. Benjamin Donald Sny was born on May 20, 1942 in Saginaw to the late Lawrence and Casmira (Bogden) Sny. Ben attended Arthur Hill High School and was then drafted into the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Following the war he returned to Saginaw and married the love of his life, Sharon Lynn Burt on August 6, 1966. Together Sharon and Ben raised their three sons in Saginaw Twp. Ben worked for General Motors, Plant #3 as a tool and die maker, until his retirement in 1993. During his retirement he enjoyed classic cars, boating, spending time at his cottage in Oscoda and wintering in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Ben loved his family and spending time with his furry pets, First Lady and then Phoebe. Ben is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons: David (Nichole) Sny and Shawn (Kerri) Sny; daughter-in-law, Jill Sny; grandchildren: Ashlie, Stephen, Meadow, Dannielle, Jordan, Sara, Megan, Ella and Penelope; sister, Fran (John) Hafner; mother-in-law, Mildred Burt; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Scott Sny; brothers: David and Casmir Sny; father-in-law, John Burt. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Ben will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Michael Korte will officiate. Military honors will be held following the service at church on Tuesday under the auspices of the United States Army. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, October 7, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.; visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
