Weadock, Barbara "Barb" Saginaw Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old. Barbara Jane Allen was born in Chicago, Il on January 7, 1936 to the late Miles N. and Marie (Feldmann) Allen. During middle school her family moved to Saginaw, and her father started Allen Supply Company. She then graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in 1953. Barb graduated from Michigan State University in 1957 with her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught elementary students in Royal Oak, East Lansing and then Saginaw. While teaching in East Lansing, Barb became engaged to Thomas J. Weadock. She returned to Saginaw and they were united in marriage on May 25, 1963 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Together Barb and Tom raised their four children in Saginaw and would enjoy their condo in Glen Arbor. While dedicating her time to family she also earned a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University in June of 1990. She became the director of the READ Association in Saginaw for 13 years. Barb loved encouraging young children to continue their education and learning abilities. Barb was a founding and current member of the O.L.L.I. Program (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at Saginaw Valley State University. She also volunteered her time within the schools, singing with the choir at Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Mary's Free Ward and was a member of the Junior League of Saginaw and the Garden Club #5. Barb loved watching Michigan State football and basketball, and to refresh her soul she spent quiet time knitting and gardening. Barb's kind and caring spirit will be deeply missed by her husband, Tom; children: Linda (Richard) Merchant, Dan Weadock, Tim (Kristi) Weadock and Andrew (Ali) Weadock; grandchildren: Mike, John, and Claire Merchant, Kathryn Antoine, Nate and Mary Weadock, Ethan Clark, Owen and Kate Weadock, James and Will Weadock; sister, Mary Ann Cromie; sister-in-law, Suzie Allen; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Grace Marie Weadock; and brother, Miles N. Allen Jr. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate with Deacon Roger Pasionek, P.A. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. To someone else I might have just been that girl who showed up from time to time. But, not with Barb. She always treated me like I was part of her family. I will truly miss her kindness. My heart goes out to everyone who is missing her right now.

Barb always greeted me so warmly even others never said hello. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. I loved her so much. She was always so appreciative of the Christmas cookies I brought to her. Barb always gave that lovely smile that lit up Ger face. :heart:
