Obituary
Passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 3, 2019. Frank was born September 16, 1931 in Oakfield Township, the son of James and Helen (Osmer) Williams. He graduated from General Motors Institute and went on to work for General Motors as an Engineer until his retirement after 40 years. Frank was united in marriage to the former Rosemary Roth on May 27, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a lifetime member of Maple Hill Golf Course and the YMCA. Frank enjoyed doing puzzles, going to the casinos and traveling with the Senior Volleyball Olympic Team; he especially enjoyed bowling. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed dearly. Frank is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his children, Cheryl Williams, Gregory Williams, Laurie (Mark) O'Brien, Randy Conaway and Dianne Conaway; grandchildren, Zachary O'Brien, Meghan (Tim) Holt, Evan O'Brien, Liam O'Brien, Anna Williams, Kaitlyn Wood, Krista Conaway and Tony Conaway; great-grandchildren, Declan Holt and Ronan Holt (who happened to be born on Frank's 88th birthday); and several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Williams, June Williams Ingraham, Gerald Williams and Alice Williams Platt. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Frank will take place Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from Deisler Funeral Home 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Paul Hinz will officiate. Burial to conclude in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. VISITATION: Friends and family will gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. I'm very sorry to hear about Mr. Williams' passing. I have many fond memories of playing volleyball with him at the Saginaw YMCA, where was very kind and encouraging to myself and my brother. I especially remember him allowing me (as teenager) to play with a strong team from the Y at a tournament somewhere in Michigan (Lapeer?). We had a great day and won the tournament. Part of the prize was being handed back our uncashed entry fee check. Mr. Williams tore a piece off for every player! He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
