Passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at Great Lakes Rehab Center at the age of 95. Doris was born January 5, 1924 in Laurelville, Ohio the daughter of Stanley and Irene (Miller) Coules. She married Austin M. Dew in April of 1942. He predeceased her in April of 1963. She was also predeceased by a son Thomas, in 1944. Doris retired in 1989 from Flint Osteopathic Hospital Nursing Department after 29 years. She was also an active member of Beta Sigma Phi. Surviving are a son and daughter, Daniel (Kathy) Dew and Linda (Robert) Berner; grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel (Jackie) Dew Jr., Michael Dew, William (Tonya) Lofback, Eric (Danielle) Lofback, Michele (Buz) Jewell, Kristen Jerome, and Jeff (Wendy) Jerome; great grandchildren, Jaden and MaKenna Jerome-Moten, Tyler, Allison, Hannah, Brady, Eli and Kylan Jerome, Alyssa and Kayla Dew, Tyler (Ashton) Lofback, Landon Lofback, and Cailyn (Taylor) Yocom. FUNERAL: In keeping with Doris's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Chaplain Lowell Gisel to officiate. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home on September 14, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM. My prayers and condolences to the family of Doris. My late husband Dr. Jim Gruenberg introduced me to Doris and we became friends over Mary Kay products. I so enjoyed our visits sharing news about her family and just having fun conversations. My husband had high respect for her. She was a special lady. May the many memories be healing for the family.
