Cecil Shelson

Shelson, Cecil William "Bill" Saginaw, Michigan and Munising, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He was 88 years old. Cecil William Shelson was born on May 22, 1931 in Birch Run, Michigan to the late Cecil and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Totten) Shelson. He married Colleen H. Johnson on September 8, 1951, and she survives him. Bill proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean War. Bill was a Master Electrician. He owned and operated Shelson Electric for 39 years. He was happiest hunting and fishing in his beloved Munising. Bill enjoyed many "happy hours" at the cabin with family and friends. Bill was also a member of the Home Builders Association, Fordney Club and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Shelson; daughters, Bonnie Scotella and Sally (Jim) Pryor; grandchildren: Ben Pryor and Dustin (Kari) Leach; great grandchildren: Aubrey, Abigail and Annabelle Leach; nieces, nephews and extended family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son, Timothy Shelson; brother, John Shelson; sister, Betty Lou Wilkerson; and brother- in-law, Roy Johnson. According to Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life memorial in Saginaw and burial of his cremated remains in Munising are being planned.
