Hammis, Jeffrey H. "Jeff" Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Avista Nursing and Rehab after a lengthy illness. He was 57 years old. Jeffrey Harold Hammis was born on October 21, 1961 in Saginaw, MI to the late Donald E. and Patricia A. (Shields) Hammis. He graduated in 1976 and then moved to Florida doing lawn care. Jeff returned to Saginaw in 2007 and enjoyed spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He loved watching his nieces and nephews play sports and watching the Tigers, Lions and Michigan football. Jeff was always the dependable man to help fix and repair everything, his loving and devoted kindness will be deeply missed by his family. Jeff is survived by his daughter, Brittney Hammis; granddaughters: Shawnie and Kaylee; siblings, David (Suzanne) Hammis, Susan Hammis, Donald (Sue) Hammis, Michael Hammis, Laura (Dan) Henris, Darryl Hammis, Penny Hammis and Kenneth (Megan) Hammis; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. SERVICE: According to Jeff's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Avista Nursing and Rehab. My daughter, Becky Jerome, went to St. Helen's Grade School with Jeff's brother, Ken.
She lives in Nashville, TN and had just read the obituary on-line and asked that I attend the service today. I was unable to do so, so am passing on her condolences to Ken Hammis and the family and loved ones. Marge Jerome
