Obituary
Passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at Ascension of St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side at the age of 63. Leo was born April 12, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Fredrick and Gladys (Wirner) Cummings Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. Leo was united in marriage to the former Cathryn Miller on October 14, 1978 in Saginaw, MI. Leo was a very compassionate person; he enjoyed helping out his family and friends. His passion was woodworking, whether it be helping a family or friend build a garage, shed or some other structure. Leo was a member of ALON Club and enjoyed volunteering as much as he could for the club. He was a huge history buff; especially regarding the Saginaw area. Leo enjoyed going to garage sales, antique shops and estate sales just to be able to see and buy all the interesting history items he could find. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. Leo is survived by his wife, Cathie; son, Nathan Cummings; two brothers, David (Betty) Kiefer and Fred (Liz) Cummings Jr.; three brother and sister in-laws, Charles (Melissa) Miller, David Miller and Harold (Linda) Miller; best friends, Sam (Dorothy) Gomez, Jerry Pringle and Terry Blakley and several nieces nephews and cousins. Leo was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Michael Cummings. FUNERAL: A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 3:00 PM from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) with Chaplain Fred Cummings to office with Military Honors to follow. VISITATION: Family and Friends may gather at the funeral home Saturday from 2:00 Pm until the time of service. MEMORIALS: Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider memorials to the wishes of Leo's family, In care of Cathie Cummings. During casual conversations Leo would come up with a humorous statement related to the topic being talked about. He made your conversation all that much more with light hearted humor and laughter .

Our condolences go to the whole Cummings family. Leo was a central figure for many, always putting the needs of others ahead of his own. Leo was funny; his humor was the tongue-in-cheek type and you had to pay attention. . .but it was always worth it. Tracy and I worked with Leo at SVRC Industries for probably more than twenty years, and he was mainstay for us: any project, any time, any day, any where. I could always count on Leo for personal projects and jobs outside of work, and considered him a friend. He will sorely missed.

Dear family of Leo, want to say it was fun working with Leo at S.V.R.C. Saw him and Cathi often at the flea mkt. at the old Timbertown lanes also enjoyed chatting with them. Also ran into him at a favorite Mexican food place. Enjoyed knowing him and visitingwith them. Bless your family as you bid him good bye here on earth. Marilyn and Eric Phillips my son.
