Obituary
Hart, Lorene D. Saginaw Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 5, 2019. She was 96 years old. Lorene D. Salbenblatt was born in Saginaw to the late Arthur P. and Lora A. (Bierlein) Salbenblatt. She married James B. Hart on September 16, 1950 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death in July of 1976. Lorene was an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church for many years and enjoyed participating with various committees. She loved her church family, including the Church Women United. She loved traveling and went on many trips through Frankenmuth Travel. After the passing of her husband, Lorene made many trips with her son, Jimmy to Daytona Beach. In her later years, she traveled with her good friend and neighbor, Betty Taylor. Often they would take a couple days trip out of town to ring in the New Year or travel more worldly to Hawaii, Ireland, Germany and many other places she was interested in. Lorene is survived by her son, Jimmy and his wife Karla who were able to stay with Lorene to care for her so she could remain independent in her home. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, James; brothers: Arthur Jr. and Robert Salbenblatt. Lorene's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Minoo Khetarpal and staff for all of the care and kindness shown to Lorene over the last 20 years. Also a special thank you to Janet, Holly and Lisa with Covenant Hospice Care. Their support, kindness and compassion during this time is greatly appreciated. It was a pleasure to have you in our home to tend to Lorene. You are truly a gift from God. SERVICE: A memorial service for Lorene will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 2525 Hemmeter Rd., Saginaw MI 48603. Rev. Rob Schmidt will officiate. According to Lorene's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the church on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Our Saviour Lutheran Church. I have so many memories. I remember sitting in her living room at a difficult time, and she asked me if it was worth dying for, or losing my job over. I said yes, and the decision was clear as a bell after that. I remember helping her walk into a restaurant and taking her arm--she snapped back, I can walk, I'm not 80 yet! Matza ball soup with crackers. Children' of the Heavenly Father was her favorite hymn. She had a power on that phone and I knew people would find out things quick once she knew. And if your salvation doesn't depend on it, it doesn't matter. So many memories!

I remember cousin/Tante Lorene from the Salbenblatt family gatherings, where she was the life, heart, and soul of the party. Such a great and big hearted woman. Love to you. Gott sei mit dir. J.F. and Heather Bierlein, San Antonio TX
