Marr, William J. "Bill" Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He was 92 years old. William James Marr was born on March 10, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Arthur F. and Rose (Burmeister) Marr. Bill attended Arthur Hill High School, and enlisted with the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. Bill was a builder by trade and enjoyed working in the construction industry. He was a pilot from the age of 17 and owned many aircraft throughout his life. He is survived by his children: Vickie Block and David W. (Toni) Marr; grandchildren: Tracy Zuzula, Tammy Taylor, Stephanie Wilson, Matthew Marr, Robert Rueda, Elizabeth Marr and Victor Marr; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Sykes; several nieces and nephews; former wife, Linda Marr. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Douglas Marr; brothers: Arthur Marr, Jr., Herbert Marr and Lynwood Marr; his first wife, Frieda Marr, preceded him in death on May 16, 2015. SERVICE: In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Rev. Mark Karls will officiate. Military honors will be held under the auspices of the United States Navy immediately following the memorial service. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center or St. John Amelith Lutheran School.
