Obituary
James "Jim" E. Tiderington, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Great Lakes Rehab Center, surrounded by his family. He was 70 years old. James Edward Tiderington was born in Saginaw on December 10, 1948 to the late Robert and Charlotte Tiderington. Jim loved his life in Saginaw and his gregarious spirit created life-long friendships over the years. He was proud to be born, raised, and die in Saginaw. Jim attended Douglas MacArthur High School where he played basketball and ran track. At Albion College he fell in love with Sherrie Rewold whom he married on the shores of Traverse Bay, wearing a hot pink tuxedo. He went on to attend Cooley Law School and worked diligently as a respected attorney in the Saginaw Community every day until the very end. Jim loved listening to music on his record player very loudly (especially The Beatles), playing guitar, coaching his kids' sports teams, playing rounds of golf, drawing, and building epic sandcastles on the beaches of Lake Huron with his children during their Big Paw vacations. Over the years he was a member of various community organizations, such as The Saginaw Club and The Germania Club. Jim is survived by his children: Brie (David) Ashley, Stacy (Jae Kim) Tiderington and James Tiderington II. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Julian Izzy and Lauren Roy Ashley, Cassidy Hyun June and Sebastian Bowie Kim. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom (Jan) Tiderington and Robert Tiderington; nieces and nephews: Jenny, Jeff, Bobby, Emmy, Evan, Ryan and Justin; and many extended family and friends. Jim spent his final days under the kind care of the staff of Great Lakes Rehab Center and was also looked after by the wonderful people of Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice. SERVICE: In accordance with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather at the Saginaw Club, 219 N. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will share memories and celebrate Jim's life at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, as Jim succumbed to cancer, kindly consider a donation to The American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. Oh wow!!! Another shock to an old teacher losing another former student. I was privileged to coach Jim in X-Country at DMHS for 3 years. He was a great runner and really nice person. I was friends with Jim's mom and dad and also coached his younger brother Tom. Condolences to the entire Tiderington family.

Although Jim has been gone for several years now, I think of him regularly and that never fails to result in a smile. We first met when Him was an eighth grader and I seventh. We became friends and the friendship grew thru high school where we listened to music and played on the singularly inept varsity basketball team T and I remained friends thru college and after. I recall him picking me up from home in his Volkswagen bug and the two of us going to the Scottish Inn for consumables. While he attended Cooley, I was in graduate school nearby and my wife and I enjoy we d many nights playing hearts with T and Sheri. We moved to Connecticut for work but anytime Ireturned to Saginaw we would get together, perhaps trolling the Hamilton corridor. I was heartbroken upon hearing of his death some six years ago and know he is a presence and thought of by his many friends. We had fun together. And I bet anyone who sees this will say the same
