Virgil Moeller

Moeller, Virgil R. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz Medical Center. He was 89 years old. Virgil Raymond Moeller was born on March 21, 1929 in Saginaw to the late Raymond and Theresa (Roberts) Moeller. Virgil was a graduate of St. Andrew Catholic High School. He then proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War, and had the opportunity to ski the Alps in Switzerland. Following his honorable discharge, Virgil worked with his father at the barber shop on Hamilton and Hancock. He carried on this family tradition until his retirement in 2010 at the age of 82. He was a faithful man, worshiping at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Virgil enjoyed listening to Jazz music, and played the trumpet for many years. He spent many hours grooming his yard and landscaping, and took great pride in maintaining his vehicles. Virgil's greatest joy came from spending time and traveling throughout Michigan with his loving wife of 65 years, Jacqueline M. (Hayes) Moeller; his daughter, Cyndi R. Ponichtera and her husband, Terry; granddaughters: Chelsea Elise and Chloe Madison Ponichtera. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ronald and Joseph Moeller; and sister, Virginia Muladore. SERVICE: A funeral liturgy for Virgil will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, MI. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at Oakwood Mausoleum. Family and friends will gather at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
