JOHN TRENT BECKER Saginaw Twp., Michigan The world is a little less funny, a little less witty, and certainly more in need of good punchline or two as we mark the passing of John Trent Becker. He was 75 years old, and passed away peacefully in his home. "John T.," as he was sometimes known, is survived by his wife, Suzanne Becker, his brother, Terry Becker, and his sons, John (Jack) Becker and Theodore (Ted) Becker. Born July 12, 1943 in Savannah, GA to the late Reinhold J. and Loretta Louise (Zummer) Becker, John was known for his ample humor, quick smile and wit, and astounding athleticism. He played on the Michigan State University golf team, and went on to win several prestigious amateur events in Michigan. Also an accomplished bowler, he had eight perfect games during his lifetime. A devoted husband and father to his boys, John loved to laugh and make those around him laugh, and was known throughout his life for his love of animals, his exceeding generosity, and a wicked iron game to go with his wicked sense of humor. FUNERAL: Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State). Rev. Paul Hinz will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Angels Among Us Animal Rescue, 305 N. Center Road, Saginaw or the American Cancer Society.
