James Danhoff

James "Jim" Walton Danhoff age 92 passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Jim was born March 9, 1926 in Saginaw, MI the son of William and Linda (Grunow) Danhoff. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Jim worked 37 years at Michigan Bell Telephone Company before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, CWA, American Legion Post 439 and VFW Post 1566; also serving in the Honor Guard. Jim enjoyed golfing, reading, playing cards, photography and music. Most of all he enjoyed watching his children play sports. Jim is survived by his six children; DiAnne Doyle, Jeffrey Danhoff, Leslie (Brad) Budzen, Robert (Leslie) Church, Jeffrey (Kelly) Church and Tracie (Ron) Lethorn, ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister in-law; Bonnie Danhoff and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his long-time companion, Shirley Church and siblings: Dale and Tom Danhoff and Connie Salow FUNERAL: Funeral services for Jim will take place Monday, December 10, 2018 at 2:30 PM from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State). Rev. Fr. Kevin Maksym to officiate. Private inurnment to take place in St. Andrews Cemetery at a later date. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the funeral home Monday, December 10, 2018 from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
