Huerta, Sr. Raul Saginaw, Michigan Passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6, 2018. He was 83 years old. Raul Huerta was born on September 30, 1935 in San Benito, TX to the late Vicente and Francisca (Ramirez) Huerta. Raul proudly served in the United States Marine Corp, Pvt. Korean War Era, 1-26-1954-1-25-1956. He was united in marriage to Abelina DeLeon. Raul was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #12684 and the VFW and American Legion Post 500. He is survived by his loving wife, Abelina Huerta; children: Norma Huerta-Pena, Raul (Raquel) Huerta Jr., Roberto (Maria) Huerta, Frances (Myron) Huerta-Backhaus, Roxanna (Nick) Huerta-Issa and Refugio (Elida) Maza, twenty grandchildren: eleven great-grandchildren: three great-great-grandchildren: three brothers and one sisters: Jose, Vinente, Guadalupe and Rosa Huerta and several nieces and nephews. Raul was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and sisters: Maria Perez, Isreal Huerta and Eddie Huerta. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Raul will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Street, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap to officiate. Entombment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Rosary to be taken place at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
