Tomsich, Franklin D. "Frank" Hemlock, Michigan Passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. He was 83 years old. Franklin D. Tomsich was born on February 11, 1935 in Ely, Minnesota to the late Frank and Agnes (Shustarich) Tomsich. Frank grew up in Ely, Minnesota and he attended Ely Jr. College and Stout State University where he earned his Master's in Education. Frank married Judith C. Mercer on January 20, 1962 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Saginaw. He taught at Saginaw High, Arthur High Tech and Douglas McArthur High School, retiring in 1986. Frank found peace spending time outdoors tending to his trees, landscaping and flowers. He also enjoyed selling Christmas trees and giving them to those in need to brighten their holiday. Frank was a faithful member of St. John XXIII (St. Mary's church). He will be deeply missed by his wife, Judy; children: Frank (Christine Robinson) Tomsich, Stephen (Debra) Tomsich, Michael (Lisa) Tomsich and John (Kathy Brown) Flynn; grandchildren: Jennifer (Will) Russell, Christian (Kelly) Tomsich, Danielle (Justin Bixler) Tomsich, Gracie Robinson, Kyle, Corey, Joshua, Lauren and Jacob Tomsich; great grandchildren: Hunter Russell, Anastasia Bixler and one more great grandchild expected in December; sisters: Florence Strickland and Nancy Flynn; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends and neighbors. His brother Thomas predeceased him. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Frank will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. John XXIII (St. Mary church), 151 St. Mary's Drive, Hemlock, MI 48626. Family and friends will gather at the church on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass.
