Stephen Thurlow

Thurlow, Stephen A. Sr. Saginaw Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully on his 74th birthday, November 4, 2018 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. Stephen A. Thurlow was born on November 4, 1944 in San Luis Obispo, CA to the late Hugh Arthur and Mitchelene (Denslow) Thurlow. Stephen married Patricia Gail Albright on November 22, 1980. She survives him. Stephen proudly served his country with the United States Marines. Stephen was very active at Hopevale Church and was instrumental in the development of the donut and coffee ministry. He was an avid Coca Cola collector. Stephen loved animals, especially horses and enjoyed western books and movies. He enjoyed working at the Bavarian Inn Motor Lodge for many years. Stephen is survived by his wife, Patricia; children: Stephen Arthur (Jacqueline) Thurlow Jr., Hughie Arthur Thurlow and Amy Lynn (Daniel Levenson) Thurlow; nine grandchildren: Steven, Nicole, Susan, Benjamin, Patricia, Mitchell, Hughie Jr., Victoria, and Michael; three great grandchildren: Thomas, Stevie and Aniya; brothers: William (Sarah) Thurlow and Charles (Brenda) Thurlow; and many nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his infant son, Maxwell Thurlow; and his sister, Linda Thurlow. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Stephen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Hopevale Church, 4873 N. Center Road, Saginaw. Pastor Ken Macgillivray will officiate. Burial and military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Marines will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.; and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Hopevale Church or give blood at the Saginaw Blood Bank in Stephen's memory.
