Rick Preston

Beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, Rick "Rico" Gene Preston, age 65 passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his home in Saginaw, Michigan. Rick was born on December 1, 1952 in Saginaw to Gene and Jacqueline (Warsin) Gill. He was later adopted by a wonderful man, Warren Preston. Rick was united in marriage to Diana Main on January 15, 1997 in Hawaii. Rick proudly served in the United States Navy for over 25 years until his retirement. He served during the Vietnam War and Beirut, Lebanon. Rick also served on the USS Ticonderoga Ship during the 1972 Apollo 17 Recovery Mission. Rick was a life member of the VFW Post 1859. Rick enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, golfing, playing softball and being outdoors at his cabin up north. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Diana; his 3 children, Amber Gibbons, Brian and Jody Preston; 7 grandchildren, Blake, Aiden, Emmy, Riya, Brady, Landon and Isaiah, 1 sister, Dana and 3 brothers, Greg, Gene and Jeff, several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. FUNERAL: Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter St. (Off State) with Pastor Ted McCulloch to officiate. Full Military Honors to follow services under the Auspices of the VFW Post 1859. VISITATION: Friday, November 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
