Spruce, Margaret H. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her home, with her daughter by her side. She was 91 years old. Margaret Helen Mason was born on March 27, 1927 in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada to the late John and Emily (Sayers) Mason. She married Leonard Sherwood Spruce on September 3, 1948; he preceded her in death on March 7, 2010. Before marriage and children, she enjoyed working at the knitting mill in Canada. Then, due to Leonard's job at the C&O Railroad, he and Margaret moved their family to Michigan. In her spare time, she enjoyed word searches and dancing. Margaret will be remembered for being a sweet and loving lady. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Deborah (Bill) Kingston of Wasaga Beach, Ontario and Jennifer Spruce of Saginaw, Michigan; three grandchildren: Brian Kingston, Craig Kingston, and Kara (Eric) Staffen; seven great-grandchildren: two sisters: Doreen (Harry) O'Connell and Marie (Clifford) Chaplow; and three special friends, Leslie Applebee, Elizabeth Williams, and Debra "Dolly" Baumgartner. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Leonard; great-grandson, Ryland Stafford; one brother, Thomas Mason; and two sisters: Julia Cunningham and Katherine Reiley. Per Marg's request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. I have the fondest memories of Mr. & Mrs. Spruce. My dad worked with Mr. Spruce at the railroad. My mom and dad sure enjoyed their friendship and company with them both. I can hear them all laughing like it was yesterday. I also become good friends with Jennifer when the wild railroad group would get together Jennifer would hang out with me as I was a bit younger. We would listen to music. Jennifer I am so sorry. God bless your mom and her 91yrs. You were good to her Jennifer. Your dad would be proud. They are are together now perhaps with my folks, Mr. Volbrech and the others they hung out with. I have a picture from the old picnics we went to from the railroad where my dad is bartending.
