Jerry Christensen

Christensen, Jerry L. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Healthsource of Saginaw after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family. He was 75 years old. Jerry L. Christensen was born on August 24, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Albert and Iva (King) Christensen. Jerry graduated from Arthur Hill Tech. He worked for General Motors-Steering Gear, and then worked as a Subcontractor throughout the Saginaw Area, until his retirement in 2015. Jerry was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Andrew Catholic Church. He was Governor and Past Governor of the Saginaw Moose Lodge #82 for many years being very active within the Lodge. Jerry also enjoyed frequently playing golf, bowling and singing karaoke. Jerry was married to Susan Fehn in August 11, 1962, and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2009. He then married Barbara O'Bryan on November 14, 2010, she survives him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara; children: Joseph (fiancée, Susan Rohn) Christensen, Karen (Steven) Novotny, Donald (Barbara) Christensen; step-children: Jordan Mitchell and Katelyn Mitchell; grandchildren: Tiffany Christensen, Steven Novotny, Raymond, Cayla and Samantha Delgado, Olivia Christensen, Timothy, Tyler and Elizabeth Rohn; step-grandchildren: Matthew (Holly) Hetzner, Christine (Derrick) Fegan and Ashley (Robert Schmedinghoff) Hetzner; great grandchildren: Eli and Erika; twin brother, Larry (Barb) Christensen; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Susan; daughter, Gail; brothers: James and Edward Christensen; sisters: Betty Mehl, June Griffus, Donna Furlo and Shirley Dowd. FUNERAL: A funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish - St. Andrew Catholic Church, 612 N. Michigan Ave. Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Robert Byrne will officiate, with burial to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Vigil will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.; visitation will continue at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
