Juan Mosqueda

Mosqueda, Juan passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 60 years old. Juan Manuel Mosqueda was born on March 3, 1958 in Uvalde, Texas to Jose and Alicia (Maldonado) Mosqueda. Juan started his childhood education in the Texas LaPryor School District until it was interrupted by his life-long illness. However, even with his illness, he was friendly, social, kind, generous, and fun to talk to. He had a great sense of humor, a true love for Mexican music, and loved to eat. Juan also loved to reminisce about the 'old' times before he got sick and remembered well. Above all, he cherished his family and they will always remember how he could make them laugh. Surviving are his mother, Alicia; three brothers and three sisters: Jose Mosqueda, Jr., Yolanda Salazar, Dr. Raul (Margaret) Mosqueda, DDS, Carolina (Armando) Gonzales, Jesus (Susan) Mosqueda, and Maria (Michael) Ortega; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M. Cap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. On Wednesday morning, Juan will be taken to the church to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
