Winifred Larrabee

Larrabee, Winifred (Treat) Saginaw Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living. She was 100 years old. Winifred Margaret Treat was born on June 12, 1918 in Chicago, IL to the late Amasa H. and Mary Jane (Johnstone) Treat. She grew up in Western Springs, Illinois and was a graduate of Lyons Twp. High School. Winifred attended Western Springs Baptist Church, The Village Church where Billy Graham was Pastor in 1943. She married Robert K. Larrabee on September 4, 1943 in LaGrange, Illinois. Winifred and Robert moved to the Saginaw area in 1956 where they raised their family together. She worked as a legal secretary and with the Saginaw County Health Department. Winifred was a past member of Hopevale Church and worshiped with Faith Baptist Church. She was a compassionate and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Winifred is survived by her son: Craig (Susanne) Larrabee; grandchildren: Robert James Schmitzer, Kenneth Herbert (Tracey) Schmitzer, John Alan (Jenny) Schmitzer, and William Charles Schmitzer; great grandchildren: John Jr., Brooke and Kenneth III. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Larrabee on December 14, 1988; daughter, Sue Alice Schmitzer on March 9, 2017; brothers, Charles and Jack Treat; sisters: Betty Vilet and Grace Evans Dortsch. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Winifred will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Scott McIntyre will officiate. Burial will follow at Owen Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
