Brian Hildebrandt

Brian loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He was passionate about his family and home. He passed away peacefully at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper on May 17, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was 64 years young. Brian E. Hildebrandt was born on November 20, 1953 in Saginaw to the late Stanley "Bud" and Marie (Rosenfield) Hildebrandt. He graduated from Carrollton High School and then enlisted to serve with the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge he met the love of his life on a blind date. Brian married Linda Lee VanSickle on March 19, 1977 and together they spent 41 wonderful years together. Brian worked as an electrician at Eaton Corporation and retired in 2006. He then continued his working career at Nexteer and re-retired in 2016. Brian loved music and playing the guitar (loudly), joy riding on his motorcycle, camping, and spending quiet time in his yard and watching the birds from his porch. He also loved to visit Florida and being by the ocean. Brian found great excitement in watching the Blue Angels fly in Traverse City. He was passionate about gathering those that he loved and spending quality time together. Brian's kind and generous spirit will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda; children: Jeremy (Liz Morin) Hildebrandt, Melody (Jeff) Walk and Krystal (Jesse) Imhoff; six grandchildren: Jeremy Jr. and Jacob Hildebrandt, Kaitlyn and Abigail Walk, Penelope and Ainslee Imhoff; three brothers: Phillip (Ronda) Hildebrandt, Craig Hildebrandt and Steve (Cathy) Hildebrandt; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Brian will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Jeanne Lapine will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors under the auspices of the United States Army and V.F.W. Post #1859 will be held at the cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
