Obituary
Salvi, Lawrence E., of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center - Cooper. He was 86 years old. Lawrence Edward Salvi was born on January 31, 1932 in Montague, Texas to the late Dezedro and Pearl (Guiliani) Salvi. Lawrence graduated from Arthur Hill High School. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Ferris State University and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He then started his career with General Motors, retiring after more than 25 years. Lawrence enjoyed fishing, drinking wine, and going up to the cabin in Traverse City. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, funny one-liners and being instantly liked by even strangers. Left to cherish his memory are his three sons and one daughter: Larry (Kate) Salvi, Ron Salvi, Charles Salvi, and Luanne Salvi; five grandchildren: Chris Salvi, Lauren (Tony) Niehausen, Holly Decker, Jordan Salvi, and Tyler (girlfriend, Secelia) Ostland; four great-grandchildren: Jailyn, Kaicyn, Eva, and Harper; two sisters: Lorraine Seegmiller and Deanna Kujawa; and many other family members and friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Salvi; one brother, Joe "Bill"; one sister, Norma; and brothers-in-law, Chet and Carl. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at the funeral home under the auspices of the US Air Force and VFW Post #1859. Immediately following visitation, friends are welcome to join the family to continue the celebration at Grand Central Sports Bar & Grill, 3504 State St., 48602. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation, 30400 Telegraph Rd. #150, Bingham Farms, Michigan 48025. I Love You Stosh You. I will miss you always. I will think of you often. I will smile at the memories of our time together. Got to know Larry back in the mid 70's working together at GM. We became good friends that lasted over the years. One of the nicest and sincere people I ever met....anywhere. Liked and Loved by everyone. Prayers to the family and other friends who will feel the loss, but will have loads of memories to get us through his absence here....RIP Salv.
