I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Emery was always so good about visiting the ones who couldn't get out both my dad and mother were blessed by his visits and his friendship.. Many circle meetings held in your home on Linda Street - miss your Mom too. I remember lots of beautiful wood working that Emery did. My sympathies to eacfh of you.

It was my privilege and pleasure to know Emery. I felt a special bond with Emery because we were both widowers and we were both part of that group of the old, old guys at Ames (those over the age of 85). It was my habit to arrive at church early enough so that I could sit down beside Emery where he sat in the back pew and we could have a short conversation before the service began. When the pastor announced on April 1st that Emery was celebrating his 90th birthday that day I looked forward to congratulating him the next Sunday. Unfortunately, I was not able to do that. I will miss Emery-I counted him as a friend.
