Larson, Eleanor Ruth of Freeland, Michigan Passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper, with her family by her side. She was 93 years old. Eleanor Ruth McCray was born on October 17, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Frank G. and Ruth V. (Russell) McCray. She met the love of her life, Erwin Edward Larson at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were married on October 20, 1943; he preceded her in death on February 26, 2010. Eleanor was a life-long member of Community of Christ. Upon Erwin's retirement, he and Eleanor enjoyed many years of traveling. She enjoyed collecting antiques and painting. Above all, she loved and cherished her family. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of her caregivers for the love, compassion and care they provided to Eleanor. Surviving are four children and their spouses: Judy (Larry) Krak, Indianapolis, IN, Kenneth (Kathleen) Larson, Saginaw, MI, Daniel (Ann Marie) Larson, Freeland, MI, James (Jamie) Larson, Burt Lake, MI; seven grandchildren: Julie (Kelly) Curnutt, Krista (Michael) Anthony, Sara Larson, Rebecca (Nicholas) Sulfridge, Mary (Jordan) Pietras, Taylor (Megan) Larson and Logan (Elizabeth) Larson; and 8 great-grandchildren: Gavin, MJ, Caitlin, Kate, Isaac, Mikaela, Kiera, Isla and a great-grandchild due in May. Along with her husband and parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Evangelist Bobby Harden will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Community of Christ Church of Saginaw.
