Jill Jurek

Jurek, Jill K. of Saginaw, Michigan. On October 27, 1961, God sent an Angel to live with us, laugh with us, and to love. On February 14, 2018, He decided it was time for her to come back to Heaven and she passed away, with her family by her side. She was 56 years old. Jill Katherine Jurek was born to William Sr. and Mary Kay (Brasseur) Jurek. She graduated from Millett Learning Center in 1988. She very much enjoyed working at SVRC for 27 years as a laborer. Jill attended the SPRED program with Sister Elaine Raymond for 41 years, as well as hospitality at St. Stephens Catholic Church. She loved to dance and sing. She also enjoyed playing the slots at the casino, exercising with Richard Simmons, and watching Red Wing games. Jill enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother, Mary Kay; a sister and four brothers: William (Pam) Jurek Jr., Joanne (Rick) Schrems, James (Vicki) Jurek, Robert Jurek, and David (Sue) Jurek; special friends, Richard Carrier and Sandra Lindstrom; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William Sr. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends will visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at the funeral home on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. held by Sister Elaine Raymond. Jill will be taken to the church to lie in state on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
