Philip Taber

Taber, Philip B. of Carrollton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 70 years old. Philip Bradford Taber was born on May 13, 1947 in Alpena, Michigan to the late William and Beulah (Brown) Taber. He married Jeanne Jo McDonald on May 4, 1974; she survives him. Philip graduated and would then begin his career with Steering Gear, Plant 2 as a lineman for 30 years until his retirement in 1998. In his spare time, Philip enjoyed old cars and NASCAR, but nothing more than his grandchildren and daschunds. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Jeanne; daughter, Amy Anne (Aaron) Winslow; four grandchildren: Dillon McDonald Taber Winslow, Lily Erin Winslow, Silas Carter Winslow, and Ivy Mae Winslow; and close in-laws, Judy (David) O'Dell. Also surviving are his daschund, Chloe and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Philip was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Keri Jo. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Monique French and son-in-law, Aaron Winslow will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare MI. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or State Street United Methodist Church.
