Mildred Kruse

Kruse, Mildred L. "Millie" of Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison. She was 101 Years old. Mildred Louise Schallhorn was born on October 2, 1916 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Emil E. and Emmie E. (Schimke) Schallhorn. She married the love of her life, Louis Irving Kruse on November 19, 1938; he preceded her in death on October 19, 2013 at 98 years old. Millie was an extraordinary homemaker. Above all, she loved and cherished her family, especially her children. She enjoyed cooking and baking for all family gatherings. Millie also enjoyed gardening, raising her orchids was her pride and joy. She was an active, yet faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church. She will forever be remembered for her sharp mind, selfless advice and her indomitable spirit. Surviving are three daughters: Andrea Kruse, Myra (Roger) Bacon and Marna Kruse-Cardwell. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. C. W. Weis will officiate. Honoring Mildred's wishes cremation has taken place. Burial with her husband Louis will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to American Cancer Society.
