R. Markva

Markva, R. Michael "Butch" of Saginaw Township, Michigan Beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper with his family by his side. He was 85 years old. R. Michael Markva was born on May 15, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Rudolph R. and Gertrude (Zielinski) Markva. He married the love of his life, Theresa E. Marker on February 25, 1967 in Saginaw; she survives him. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Theresa E. Markva of Saginaw Township; and a sister, Barbara (Art) Peart of Woodstock, Il. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews which includes two angels: Kim Weigl and Diane Neuenfeldt and many near and dear friends. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at St. Andrew Cemetery Chapel, 381 St. Andrews Rd. Rev. Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak will officiate. Military Honors will follow under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #439. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., when we will then proceed in procession to the cemetery for a 2:30 p.m. service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to City of Saginaw Rescue Mission.
