Mr. Surian taught in several schools, but came into his own as assistant principal at Ricker Junior High School, where he enforced the school rules sternly a and vigorously, to the terror of all of us rambunctious, disobedient students. He is one of those dedicated professionals that had a real presence in our lives and an unforgettable impact on our lives forever. A life well-lived, may he rest in peace. Sue, and family so sorry for your loss

Mr. Surian taught Latin at Buena Vista High School and was an intimidating presence in the classroom. He was confident in his own competence and expected the same from his students. I am thankful that I was his student, have regularly used Latin in my professional career, and remember Mr. Surian with respect and fondness. May he rest in God's merciful care.
