Obituary
Perez, Bentura "Benny", our Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, passed away December 1, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born in Hondo, Texas on July 14, 1932 to the late Gustavo and Juana Perez. He was a retiree from St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital with almost 40 years of service. Family was very important to Benny and was the epicenter of his life. He was a very sweet, gentle, and compassionate man who was always willing to help his family in need. Benny was a baseball player in his youth and enjoyed golf and bowling in his later years. He loved to play the daily Michigan lotto, go on walks, and enjoyed cooking for his family. Like his loving wife, he was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team but also enjoyed teams such as the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and the San Antonio Spurs. Benny is survived by his four children: Maria (Chuck) Brautigan, Esther Coronado, Bentura Perez, Jr., & Alma (Donald) Spreeman; five grandchildren: Michael (Jane) Perez, George (Joy) Coronado, Jason Landin, Crystal Gomez, & Estrellita Gomez; eight great-grandchildren: Corey, Kyle, Kayli, Christian, Madisyn, Lorissa, Rylan, & Darrell; three step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren; two sisters Corina and Ernestina; and three siblings-in-law: Ramon and Orfelina Villa, and Olga Bernal. Benny was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Odelia Perez, his parents Gustavo and Juana, brother Santos Perez, and sister Lupe Hernandez. Benny and Odelia's cremated remains will be interred in Texas. No other services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). I can remember him coming in the credit union with always a big smile and always peaceful and caring. He was very respectful and kind hearted. He always had something nice to say. He will be missed, may God brings peace and healing to his wonderful family.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of benny, he was a great person a great Mentor at work and in life he was my boss at st. Mary's Hospital for many years but he was like a father figure ,I could always go to him he will be sadly missed God bless you benny
