Obituary
McCoy, Barbara J., of Saginaw, Michigan, age 65, passed away on October 18, 2017, surrounded by her family, from a long battle with cancer. Barbara Jean Hein was born on June 3, 1952 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Donald R. and Beulah J. (Bryde) Hein. She graduated from Everett High School in Lansing with the Class of 1970. Barbara married Lawrence L. McCoy on August 22, 1970; he survives her. She and Larry were members of the First Church of God and stayed active through the years as youth directors, children's choir director, and many other avenues. They also took in wards of the state and foster care. For several years, she had her daycare license and was a member of the Woman's Missionary Society. She enjoyed painting and decorating little houses, sewing, knitting, and playing Bingo. Barbara enjoyed nothing more than her family and grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry; three sons: Lawrence D. McCoy, Shawn M. McCoy, and Christopher S. (Jammielynn Furstenberg) McCoy; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings: Judy Healan, Joyce (Ron) Rowe, Keith (Paula) Hein, Ron (Lois) Hein, and Marilyn (Dave) Baker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at the First Church of God, 1834 N. Charles, 48602. Pastor David VanNorman and nephew, Chaplain Scott Kuepfer will officiate. Entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Mausoleum. VISITATION: The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to the family fund in c/o Christopher McCoy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). I enjoyed they many times that I was able to sing in a womens Quartet at Pennway Church of God where Barbara and I grew up in Lansing Mi. We had many enjoyable times in the youth group there too. Laurel Beals
