Wahr, John A. of Freeland, Michigan, passed away on October 5, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was 72 years old. John was born on December 8, 1944 to Leo and Pearl (Hutchinson) in Muskegon, Michigan. He married Janice L. Krueger on August 27, 1966. He graduated from Au Gres Sims High School with the Class of 1962. He then attended Central Michigan University and earned his Masters of Education. John taught for Carrollton Public Schools for 36 years until his retirement in 2002. In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and coaching his kids. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Janice; mother, Pearl; three daughters and two sons: Michelle (Terry) Miller, Brian Wahr, Lisa (Brian Louks), Brent (Tricia) Wahr, and Sarah Wahr; nine grandchildren: Jamie (Kelsey) Miller, Bailey Miller, Chelsea (TJ White) Wahr, Julia Louks, Corissa Wahr, Delani Wahr, Ellianah Wahr, Adelaide Bolt, and Brooke Koch; two grandpups: Jeter and Wrigley; four great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters: Barbara, Richard (Nancy), Beverly, Ivah (Walter), David (Emelyn), and Fred (Pat); three brothers-in-law: Jerry (Maureen), Wayne (Sharon), and Tim; sister-in-law, Sue (Tom Krueger, deceased); and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father; step-granddaughter, Bailey Michelle Miller, and mother-in-law, Muriel Krueger. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw First Assembly of God, 4570 Mackinaw Rd., 48603 or to the wishes of the family, c/o Janice Wahr.
