Darlene Zimmerman

Zimmerman, Darlene J. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital, Saginaw. She was 83 years old. Darlene was born on July 5, 1934 in Saginaw to the late David and Irene (Wilson) Zimmerman. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1952. Darlene worked as a social worker for The Salvation Army, and then retired from St. Mary's Hospital after 25 years of service. She was a faithful soldier of The Salvation Army Saginaw Corps all her adult life. Darlene loved to read and do jigsaw puzzles. Her fair and kind spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Lloyd Zimmerman; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Laurene "Laurie" McLean; brothers: David and Kenneth Zimmerman. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Darlene will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State). Captains Cassandra and Thom Moffitt of The Salvation Army will officiate. The family will receive family and friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
