Alberto Cuevas

Cuevas, Alberto "Berto" of Saginaw, Michigan Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Toni and Trish House, surrounded by his family. He was 58 years old. Alberto Cuevas was born on May 2, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Pete A. and Mary Helen (Martinez) Cuevas, Sr. Berto married Carmen Trevino; she survives him. Berto loved to ride his bicycle, go to Bingo and sip on Coke Zero. Above all, he loved and cherished his family. He will forever be remembered for his generosity and his wonderful sense of humor. Surviving are his wife, Carmen Cuevas of Saginaw; two daughters: Catherine Trevino of San Antonio, TX and Manuela Trevino of San Antonio, TX; one sister and two brothers: Susan (Antonio) Ledesma, Andrew P. Stowell and Rudy (Sandra) Lopez; sister-in-law, Mary J. Cuevas of Saginaw; five nieces: Melissa Cuevas, Lupe Vaughn, Rossa Vaughn, Juanita Vaughn and Michelle Vaughn. Also surviving are many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Adams Cuevas, Jr; two sisters: Maria Cuevas and Catherine Cuevas. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service for Alberto will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Living Faith Family Ministry, 1902 Stone St., Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastor Frank Gallardo will officiate with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Berto will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
