Kennedy, John M. "J.K." of Harbor Springs, Michigan formerly of Saginaw Beloved father, grandfather, soulmate, brother and friend passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday, July 31, 2017. He was 58 years old. John Michael Kennedy was born on September 7, 1958 in Saginaw to the late William Joseph and Shirley Ann (Riedel) Kennedy. He was a proud 1976 graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School. Throughout his life, John spent many years in the food and beverage industry in Northern Michigan. He met the love of his life and soulmate, Mona Hartley, on June 16, 2006. John was an amazing photographer and loved life to its fullest, with passion and vigor. He enjoyed hiking, music, and spending time gardening. John was pure of heart, kind and his love radiated through the essence of his soul. He will forever be remembered for being a light to all those that needed love and laughter. John had an indomitable spirit and his wonderful sense of humor will be passed on to those who've loved him. Surviving are two daughters: Brianne Kennedy of Saginaw and Jena (Josh Groulx) Kennedy of Grand Rapids; two grandchildren: Emilee Kennedy and Anthony Spiridigliozzi of Saginaw; his soulmate, Mona Hartley of Harbor Springs and her children: Heather (Josh) Linda of Bay City with their son, Marek due in September and Jason Hartley of Colorado; two sisters: Ruth Simons of Saginaw, and Joan (Mike) Nickel of St. Charles; Also surviving are two granddogs: Wickett and Gus, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Robert Richards will officiate. Honoring John's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Kennedy Family. I worked for many years with JK at Treetops Resort and he was certainly one of the best guys I knew. Always a smile and great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family! I know you were all very much loved by him. He will be missed by many.
