Wilmer Rorrer

Rorrer, Wilmer R. "Dick" of St. Charles, Michigan Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison. He was 74 years old. Wilmer Richard Rorrer was born on March 14, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Wilmer Lee Rorrer and Mary Wickline. He was employed by Tech Tool and later relocated and began working for Saginaw Machine Systems as a machinist. Wilmer later worked as a machinist at Precision Jig Grinding in St. Charles, retiring after many years of dedicated service. As a younger man, Wilmer enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Wilmer was a gifted and talented guitarist. He, along with his son, began a band, Southern Influence. Above all, he loved and cherished his family but truly treasured his pets: Puppy Dog, Spot and Sandy. He will forever be remembered for his gift of storytelling, sense of humor and his dinner-talk inventions. Surviving are two daughters and a son: Ginger (Steven) Evans of Lincoln Park, Rich (Ginger) Rorrer of Saginaw Township and Cindy (Rod) McRitchie of Belleville; five grandchildren: Ryan Fairchild, John Fairchild and his fiancée, Sashe Reyelts, Elizabeth Rorrer, Hanna Rorrer and Olivia McRitchie; and two great-grandchildren: Madison and Savannah Fairchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilmer Lee Rorrer and his mother, Mary Holt and step-father, Newt Holt. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Deacon Adam Maher will officiate. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Michigan Memorial Park, 32163 W. Huron River Drive, Flat Rock, Michigan, 48134.
