Alvarez, Leon R. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. He was 72 years old. Leon Raymond Alvarez was born on September 24, 1944 in Saginaw to the late Louise A. (Morio) and Raymond J. Alvarez. He graduated from St. Mary High School. Leon became a barber, working under Al at Al's Barber Shop. He then purchased the business after Al's retirement and enjoyed running his business. Leon made many wonderful friends during his career and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his brother, Edward (Judy) Alvarez; nephews: Dr. Khristopher (Laura) Alvarez, Steve Meyers, David Meyers and Ronald (Julie) Munro; great nieces and great nephew, Aria Meyers, Jaelynn, Tamryn and Colton Alvarez. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Leon will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State). Rev. Bob Helwer will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Lee was the best and most loving person I have ever known, he was a Christian that walked his talk, besides he gave the best hair cuts. His triumph in life was being a therapist to his fellow man allowing them to talk thru their problems in life. His favorite saying was "YES SIR BOSS", now he is in the precious loving hands of God, RIP and Thank you for your service to mankind. Lee was my father's barber for many years and he always enjoyed having good talks with him. Then he became my barber also. Will miss you Lee. Many times we talked of God and spiritual things. Lee seemed like a good Christian man. Rest in peace Lee.
