Pechtel, Robert H. "Bob" Freeland, Michigan Passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old. Robert H. Pechtel was born on September 19, 1936 in Saginaw, MI to the late Harvey and Herta (Krueger) Pechtel. Bob married Nancy Wagner on May 17, 1958 at St. Helen Catholic Church, she survives him. He was a Weighmaster for the Saginaw County Road Commission, retiring after over 35 years of service. Bob was an avid golfer, he also enjoyed spending time with his family hunting at deer camp and fishing. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy; three children: Melanie (Jack) Pechtel-Arnault, Melinda (David) Maldonado; Michael (Carol) Pechtel; grandchildren: Jacob (Sarah) Pechtel, Allie and Noah Maldonado, Jonathon and Sarah Pechtel; two great grandchildren: Maverik and Kolt; brother, Bill (Vicki) Pechtel; many nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, neighbors and extended family. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Nancy Williamson. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Deacon Adam Maher will officiate. Following the funeral service, cremation will take place. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the funeral home from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the wishes of the Pechtel family, c/o Nancy Pechtel. Will miss his humor and all the stories that kept us in stitches. He always told me he was coming over when Jim went fishing! Course he never did. We loved him and Nancy like family. The neighborhood will never be the same. Rest in peace, my friend.

Bob and Nancy have been our neighbors for almost 7 years. From the day we moved in, Bob welcomed us with open arms and has been such a positive presence on our street. The kids loved visiting with him and riding bikes up and down their driveway. I will always remember his stories about raising his family there and the closeness of our neighborhood. As I watched his family gather across the street this last week, despite the sadness, it warmed my heart to see a family come together in such a big way. I will miss seeing him sitting on the front porch that he loved. Please accept my condolences for the loss of such a great man. He will be missed by many including my family.

Bob was the best ranger at the golf course. He loved people and everyone loved him. He surly will be missed but heaven has amazing golf courses so play on Bob!
