William Richard

Richard, William "Bill" of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper, with his family by his side. He was 90 years old. William James Richard was born on November 20, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Milan and Hattie (Wregglesworth) Richard. He married Betty L. Fox on November 22, 1952; she preceded him in death on February 8, 1983. Bill graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1944. He then served in the United States Army, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, near the end of World War II. After his honorable discharge, he started his career as a wood pattern maker. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed bowling, fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed his quick casino trips and was an avid walker. Surviving are his two sons and two daughters: Kevin (Suzanne), Bryan (Gayle), Cheryl (James) Lamont, and Cindy Greskowiak; seven grandchildren: Stephany (Nathan), Kyle (Katie), Jacqueline, Amanda, Joe, Evan, and Alex; four great-grandchildren, with a great-granddaughter on the way; and one sister, Pauline Tillock. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 29 years, Betty; baby daughter, Beth Ann; and second wife, Gladys. FUNERAL: A funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Ernesto Mariona will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., as well as on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
