Sue Gomez

Gomez, Sue (Christopher) Bay City, Michigan Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region, surrounded by her family. She was 64 years old. Sue Ellen Christopher was born on August 10, 1952 in Saginaw, MI to the late Robert and Grace (Hollenbeck) Christopher. She married Reyes "Ray" J. Gomez on May 26, 1979 in Saginaw; he survives her. Sue worked at Michigan Sugar Company in Bay City for the past 10 years. Her greatest love and joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Sue enjoyed spending quiet time doing crossword puzzles, watching the Detroit Pistons, dancing, listening to music or just enjoying a cold Miller beer with friends and family. Sue is survived by her husband, Reyes "Ray" J. Gomez; children: Jennifer (Michael) Jarvis, Toni Christopher and Reyes Gomez II; grandchildren: Gregory (Dorottya) Christopher, Cory and Rudy Christopher, Angel Medina, Cameron O'Keefe, Tiffany Christopher, Howard McLean, Dequindre Davis, Cassandra Christopher, Brendan Christopher and Marcos Gomez; great-grandchildren: Briella, Cannon, Kasen, Evan, Sylvia, Gabriel and Mia; and siblings: Robert Christopher, Joseph Christopher and Cathleen Christopher. She is also survived by many extended family and dear friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Angela Jo Christopher. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Kurt Cullison will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends and family are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
