Duane Scott

Beloved father and brother passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper with his family by his side. He was 53 years old. Duane L. Scott was born on July 2, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Fredrick and Patricia (Cherry) Scott. Duane was an avid bowler for 25 years, passing his love of the sport on to his son, Tyler, who was his pride and joy. Duane always encouraged and supported Tyler's passion for bowling and treasured the time spent traveling to his tournaments. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casino and volunteering for Bingo. He will forever be remember for his wonderful sense of humor and for being a kind and gentle soul. Surviving are a son, Tyler Scott of Saginaw; two sisters: Pam (James) Curtis of Bridgeport, and Kim (John) Gardyszewski of Saginaw; four nieces and one nephew: Jamie (Chris) Massey of Birch Run, Jodi (Ruben) Gonzalez of Texas, Crystal (Brad) Miles of Ohio, Tiffany LaFave of Saginaw, and Matthew LaFave of Texas. Also surviving are many cousins, extended family and very special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an uncle, Don Coeur; and a cousin, Tammy Cherry. FUNERAL: A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, (ELCA), 915 Federal and Second Ave. Rev. Kathleen A. Basner will officiate. Honoring Duane's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Scott Family c/o Tyler Scott for his funeral expenses and college fund.
