Clarence Jaenicke

Clarence F. Jaenicke, Jr. "Sonny" Hemlock, Michigan Beloved dad, grandpa, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center - Cooper surrounded by his family. He was 78 years old. Clarence F. Jaenicke Jr. was born on November 4, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Clarence Francis and Thelma L. (Burmeister) Jaenicke. Clarence married Frances E. Dorr on July 5, 1960 at Sacred Heart Church. She survives him. Sonny proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lexington. He was Journeymen Millwright employed by General Motors-Central Foundry for 30 years. Sonny loved cars and enjoyed owning a few muscle cars. He also enjoyed hunting with his son, Gary and his brother, Carl. Surviving are his wife, Fran; two sons: Gary (Lisa) Jaenicke and Craig (Katherine) Jaenicke; daughter, Debra (Dennis) O'Connor; grandchildren: Alex and Dann O'Connor, Koryn and Colton Jaenicke; brother, Carl (Jackie) Jaenicke; dear friend who was like a brother, Jack (Ruth) Patty. Sonny will also be missed by many extended family, and friends. Sonny was preceded in death by brother, Roy Jaenicke; and mother-in-law, Edna Dorr. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Kurt Cullison will officiate. Burial and Military Honors under the auspices of the U.S. Navy will follow at Owen Cemetery, Thomas Township. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
