Sharon Wolter

Wolter, Sharon K. of Saginaw Township Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Mary's of Michigan with her family by her side. She was 74 years old. Sharon K. Lauer was born on August 30, 1942 in Freeland, Michigan, to the late Russell and Naomi (David) Lauer. Sharon was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation she met the love of her life, Gilbert Wolter and they were united in marriage on June 27, 1964 in Saginaw; he survives her. Sharon was a faithful member of First Congregational Church for 53 years and a 40 year member of the Elks Lodge #47. She had a passion for the Saginaw Township Little League and was a proud contributor. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Sharon was an incredible crafter, from knitting to working with stained glass, she had the skills to meticulously create everything out of love. Sharon loved her family and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her love, honesty and indomitable spirit. Surviving are her beloved husband of 52 years, Gilbert Wolter of Saginaw Township; two sons and a daughter: Tari Shannon of Winter Haven, Florida, Russell (Jill) Wolter of Tampa, Florida, and Robert Wolter of Lincolnshire, IL; four grandchildren: Taylor Shannon, Jack Wolter, Claire Wolter and Joseph Wolter; and two sisters and one brother: Mark (Sue) Lauer, Sandra (Ron) Wiles, and Jacqueline (James) Simpson. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. FUNERAL: The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Robert Richards will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
