Obituary
Passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 84 years old. Barbara Lee Maxwell was born on November 12, 1932 the only child to Harry J. and Virginia I. (Kessler) Maxwell. She married Andrew J. "Tony" Oros on October 6, 1956; he preceded her in death on February 12, 1984. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School. Barbara began her career with Michigan Bell Phone Company and continued as an operator with King Communications. She lived and volunteered at South Colony Place for over 20 years as a lunch attendant and assisted residents with making ceramics. Barbara also enjoyed participating in the choir at Holy Family Catholic Church. Barbara is survived by her four sons and one daughter: James Oros, Mari (Brad) Whitesell, Michael (Lorri Halazon) Oros, David Oros, and Dean (Angela) Oros; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 26 years, Tony Oros; and son, John Oros. FUNERAL: A funeral service for will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. On Monday night, the family will gather at the funeral home for a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to HealthSource Activity Department. My Dad (Jack Tinney) is in Great Lakes at Health Source and Barb was always so kind to him. She would laugh at his stories and shared many conversations with my Mom as well on her nightly visits. I think of your Mom as a shining angel who made life brighter for all in Great Lakes. I already miss her and will continue to do so. Our sympathies for your loss. Sue Trahan
